Limited Edition
Spotting the gaps:
The main challenge for the Oreo x Hotel Transylvania packaging redesign was to balance the spooky, festive vibe of Halloween with the playful, family-friendly nature of the movie franchise. We needed to create packaging that stood out during the competitive holiday season while staying true to Oreo's classic brand identity. Additionally, the design had to be functional, visually appealing and include a hidden surprise element to engage consumers. Finding the right combination of bold, festive visuals without overwhelming the simplicity of the Oreo brand posed a creative challenge, as did making the packaging memorable and unique to drive holiday sales.
Brief:
This project redesigned Oreo's packaging for Halloween, inspired by Hotel Transylvania, blending spooky fun with festive charm. The limited-edition gift pack included surprise elements to enhance customer excitement and drive sales during the holiday season.

Why rectangular structures?
We chose rectangular structures for our packaging design, considering children's behaviour and preferences. Despite variations in
package shape, children are primarily focused on the excitement of opening the packet and enjoying the biscuits inside. We observed
that they often tear open the entire packet and are down to cute and relatable designs.
While maintaining the practicality of rectangular boxes, we enhanced the unboxing experience with perforated sheets. This design
choice aligns with children's natural inclination to tear open packages, adding an element of interactivity and excitement that varies
based on the character or flavours of the biscuits enclosed.

Surprise, surprise!

Our packaging unfolds to reveal enchanting illustrations from Hotel Transylvania, immersing consumers in its whimsical world. Thoughtfully
integrated surprise visuals transition seamlessly, enhancing the overall experience. Inside, sticker sheets and visual narratives depict iconic scenes
from the beloved animated film series, adding an extra layer of delight for consumers.

Growth through reflection:
One of the key challenges we faced in this project was finding the right balance between Oreo's classic brand identity and
the whimsical spooky elements of Hotel Transylvania. The project taught us the importance of creative collaboration and
attention to detail in designing packaging that appeals to both the brand's loyal customers and a festive audience.
